to walk or not to walk?

So after 4 years of college I am finally graduating with my AA. I know that sounds funny since after 4 years one should have the Bachelors, but my story is a bit different obviously.

I have decided to go to my family and friends for advice. Since it is only my AA in general studies I am thinking about not walking in graduation. It is in the middle to the day out in the hot sun for 3 hours of talking and waiting. That does not excite me at all. On the other hand part of me thinks that if I choose to not walk I will regret it later. My kids will not be there to see me either because they will be on vacation with their dad, and they are my whole motivation and reason for going to school and finishing. If it were not for them and they patience and love I do not think that I would have gotten to this point. So what do you think, walk or not walk? Party maybe instead of, or including walking? Help me out here. Thanks! Love you all.

Graduation is June 18th at 3:30pm

  2. Well whatever you do this is a huge accomplishment and you should be so proud of yourself! I was going to say that you totally should walk, but then I thought about when I got my Associates. I didn't walk and I don't regret it. But I was 9 hours away from the college I graduated from, at the time! lol

  3. I didn't walk, I don't regret it cuz i'm getting my bachelors and will walk then....but I didn't walk at HS grad either, and don't regret that...so maybe i'm a bad person to ask :) I say do what makes you happy, you can party to recognize your awesomeness, not that you need a part to recognize that...I see it everyday! :)

  4. i say walk. you could feel regret either way, but the regret you might feel over walking (i.e. it's hot, maybe boring) will be less than the regret you may feel if you don't walk (because you can't go back and decide to walk later). ultimately it's up to you, but either way, it is an amazing accomplishment and you should be so proud of yourself! i'm so proud of you!!!! you are so awesome and such a great example to me!!!! lots of love!
p.s. no matter what, definitely have a party! woo hoo!

  5. I didn't walk for my AA, and I don't even think about it. However, I didn't work as hard as you did, to get the AA. If you want to walk, then do it. If not, save it for your BA. Now that'll be a party!

  6. If it were me, I wouldn't walk for my AA. I'd have a huge BBQ instead as a celebration : ) But you shouldn't have any regrets either. I would definitely walk for the Bachelors though!

  7. Well I'm graduating from HS and I'm very excited to walk! But thats because I know everyone there and stuffy stuff, so I dunno about your situation. However, you'll be here to see me walk! lol

  8. Hmmm, I wasn't super excited to walk for my BA until I looked at my parents way up in the bleachers and saw my mom crying. Holy cow, it took all my resolve to not cry too. Ultimately the decision is yours to make. Congrats on finishing it!!!

  9. my parents made me walk for my bachelors and i didn't care. it would have saved me money if i hadnt. im not sentimental at all though. i got my degree. I didn't need to hear people ramble on, while wearing ugly robes to feel like i had accomplished something huge. it is a huge accomplishment whether you walk or not.
